I only call Bob the Plumber whenever we have issues with plumbing and/or toilet and sink repairs. First and foremost, Bob the Plumber is what has become increasingly rare in the modern plumbing/electrical/carpentry world: an upfront and honest craftsman.
I wanted to install a stainless-steel utility sink in my garage, but I didn’t have a drain or dedicated water source. I did have a small laundry room on the other side of the wall from the spot I’d place the sink (however, the floor in the laundry was a foot higher than the garage floor). Bob came out and assessed the situation. He patiently described the extensive work that would have to be done, especially the problems in installing a drain pipe for the sink. In layman’s terms, he explained what made my particular job difficult and the extensive modifications that would be required.
I asked, is it worth doing? Bob gave a cost-to-benefit analysis and told me it was not practical. There you go, an honest and straightforward answer.
So while I’m not getting the utility sink I wanted, I did find my new plumber.
